Goal : 1. Reduce hardness in water. 2. Have a long lasting softener in place, which can be easily plugged out and plugged in for service. Approach : 1. After long thought, decided to buy water filters from AFW(An American company that makes the product in US). 2. Their products last long and very high quality. Existing Water Softener: 1. The 2 iron filters(the black ones) on the right.They seem to be working. It can no longer be serviced because the company that installed it no longer services it. 2. The water softener. The back flush and such is working, but the regen(Resin regeneration) is NOT working. 3. The back flush discharge pipes i just replaced and it does carry the discharge from water softener in other modes like Back Flush, Back Rinse etc...but the regen on the water softener itself is not working. 4.
